March 2007 36 months Phase 1 (FLOWER): Development in demo cars.
  • Optimization of certain innovative MCE-5 VCRi components,
  • Design and finalization of an inline-four 1.5L MCE-5 VCR engine,
  • Development of various engine peripherals outside of the innovative perimeter,
  • Bench testing and validations,
  • Integration of MCE-5 VCRi engines in demonstration vehicles.

  • Setting up partnerships with different industrial companies,
  • Optimization of the product-process pair: adapting and developing high precision forging (Netshape), choice of materials, machining ranges, finishing via precision electrochemical machining,
  • Quantification of cycle times and productivity, identification of costs, investments and the cost price of finished parts.
